General Questions

Q: Is the event cancelled?
A: No, the event will take place virtually. Once the conference is live, please login here.

Q: What do I need to attend the virtual conference?
A: You need a valid congress registration via the registration system

Q: Will the conference take place at the same time as previously pronnounced?
A: Almost: Event dates for the virtual event are 18-21 November 2020.

Q: I cannot connect to live sessions/platform, what can I do?
A: Please contact the support team at registration.sohc@congrex.com or industry.sohc@congrex.com

Q: Will the sessions be recorded and can I watch them afterwards?
A: All sessions will be recorded and available in the on-demand library until 31 January 2021.

Q: When will the congress take place and how long will it be running for?
A: Congress will be live from 18 – 21 November 2020. Afterwards, recorded session scan be watched on demand in the platform until 31 January 2021. Please do not forget to visit our generous sponsors in the exhibition hall.

Q: Will there be a virtual exhibition?
A: Yes. You can find the virtual exhibition in the exhibition hall of the platform.

Q: Will the sessions be interactive?
A: During the live sessions you will have the possibility to send your questions to the chairs and speaker.

Registration

Q: How do I register for the congress?
A: Here, you can start with your registration by creating a new account first.

Q: What are the registration fees for this congress?
A: Please find an overview of the registration fees here.

Q: What is included in the registration fee?
A: With the regular registration fee you will have access to all scientific sessions, the on-demand library and the exhibition hall.
The on-demand library will be accessible as of 9 November 2020.
Access to the virtual platform and exhibition as of 18 November until 31 January 2021

Q: Is there a possibility to register groups/more people at the same time?
A:Yes, we would recommend you to use the group registration option, if you would like to register 5 or more participants. In order to register less than 5 participants, we recommend the option “register someone else”

Q: How can I benefit from the reduced membership registration fees?
A: Please choose the corresponding registration category as member. All registrations as member will be checked for validity. So, please make sure you have a valid membership for 2020.

Q: My abstract has been accepted for the congress, will I receive free registration?
A: All abstract authors have to purchase a regular registration. Please find the overview here.

Q: How do I register my booth staff?
A: Please register your booth staff here and choose the registration category “exhibitor”. If you would like to register several participants as booth staff, we would recommend you to use the group registration option.

Q: How can I attend the industry symposia?
A: With the regular registration you can access the industry symposia to the indicated live times. Please refer to the scientific programme to check the times.

Q: I am an invited speaker/chair. How do I register?
A: Please register here using the registration category “faculty”. All faculty registrations will be checked for validity.

Q: I registered to the congress, but I did not receive a confirmation. What do I do?
A: Please check your spam folder first. Otherwise, please contact registration.sohc@congrex.com

Q: I have already been registered for the conference in Zurich. Am I automatically registered for the virtual conference?
A: Yes, your registration will be changed automatically. The refund of the difference in the registration fees will be done soon.

Q: I cannot attend the congress. How can I cancel my registration and will I get a refund?
A: Cancellations received up to and including 29 October 2020: total minus 25% handling fee.
No refund on cancellations after 29 October 2020.
For any name change, a fee of CHF 50.00 will be charged.
All cancellations must be electronically mailed to registration.sohc@congrex.com

Certificate / Accreditation

Q: Will I get a certificate for the participation?
A: After the congress you can download the certificate will the CME credits via the registration system.

Q: Can I claim CME credits?
A: The overview of the CME credits can be find here.

Q: Will abstract/poster presenter receive an abstract certificate?
A: All accepted posters will receive an certificate after the congress.

Q: I did not receive my certificate, how can I receive it?

Abstracts

Q: How can I submit an abstract?
A: Abstracts may be submitted via the link below until Sunday, 11 October 2020, 23:59 CEST http://sohc.ch/2020/abstracts.html

Q: Will the abstracts be published?
A:All accepted abstracts will be published in the online supplement of the EMH Journal -Swiss Medical Weekly as well as on the SOHC Congress’s website, and in the mobile app.
Full text of regular abstracts will be published 1 day prior to the first day of the congress (17 Nov 2020) on the congress website.

Q: Do I need to be registered to present my abstract?
A: Each presenter has to register for the congress.

Q: I submitted my abstract. What are the next steps?
A: Each abstract will be reviewed by external experts and final selection will be made by the Scientific Programme Committee. Notification of acceptance or rejection of submitted abstracts will be sent to the corresponding authors via email in October 2020. Full instructions concerning preparation and presentation will be included.

Q: Can I adapt/change my abstract after the submission (e.g. content or list of authors)?
A: you may adapt your abstract prior the deadline. We may not accept any changes within the content after the deadline. List of authors can still be adapted.

Q: I want to withdraw my abstract. How shall I proceed?

Q: What are the guidelines for abstract submission?

Q: I am an abstract reviewer. What do I have to do?
A:Following the abstract deadline you will receive an email with your personal password and additional review instructions. With this password you will have access via internet to the abstracts assigned to you. You are able to print out the abstracts for your convenience; however the grading and comments must be entered online.

Scientific Programme

Q: Where can I find the scientific programme?
A: You may access the programme here

Q: Will all sessions and lectures that usually take place at the conference be organized online?
A: Yes, all sessions and lectures will be online. Only a few sessions had to be cancelled due to the new format. There will be different formats:
Live Sessions: These sessions will be hold live at the respective time with the chairs and speaker interacting as in an normal congress and then broadcasted them to the virtual platform. The live sessions will be recorded and uploaded to the on-demand library afterwards.
On-demand + Zoom: The presentations of these sessions will be pre-recorded and uploaded to the on-demand library. The chairs and speaker will then discuss the presentations and the findings during a fixed Zoom Meeting. Please refer to the scientific programme to see the times. Please note that the presentation will not be hold during the Zoom Meeting, so make sure to watch them in advance in the on-demand library.
Zoom Calls: These sessions will be held via Zoom Meeting where the interaction between the chairs, speaker and you will be vital.

Q: Will the sessions be recorded and can I watch them later?
A: All sessions will be recorded and available in the on-demand library until 31 January 2021.

Q: How can I attend the industry symposia?
A: With the regular registration you can access the industry symposia to the indicated live times. Please refer to the scientific programme to check the times.

Q: Are all sessions included in the registration fee?
A: With the regular registration categories (Member, Non-Member, Assistant Doctor / Nurse) you have access to all scientific sessions.
With the SAKK Semi Annual Meeting ONLY Ticket you will only have access to the SAKK Sessions.
