This year's Swiss Oncology & Hematology Congress (SOHC) will take place as a virtual congress. After careful evaluation of all scenarios, the SOHC supporting association has come to the conclusion that a virtual congress is the best option:
- Given the importance of exchange and networking, we offer a safe space for all hematological and oncological professionals
- We minimize the COVID-19 infection risk, for all congress participants and for our patients
- A virtual congress offers the opportunity to put together their programme flexibly and individually
- Even though the use of modern tools opens up a wide range of opportunities for interactive exchange and networking, we very much regret not being able to organise a face-to-face meeting this autumn. Given the current increase in the number of COVID-19 cases and the risk of having to quarantine a large number of Swiss oncologists, haematologists, other specialistsand professionals if a positive case is diagnosed at the congress, we believe that conducting the SOHC as virtual congress is the most responsible decision
The programme for the virtual congress will be revised and communicated as soon as possible. Registration fees already paid will be refunded or offset against the new, lower registration fee for the virtual congress. Abstract submission and prices for the best papers remain unchanged. The programme will be adapted in such way that the necessary certificates of participation (basic course SGMO, advanced course SGH) can be obtained for doctors in further education.
